Scope: New Construction, Whole-Home Design Raleigh, North Carolina
Designed for a young family of five, Ashcroft was envisioned as a home deeply connected to nature, craftsmanship, and everyday living. Inspired by Belgian farmhouse architecture, we layered natural materials, handcrafted furnishings, and collected details throughout the home to create a warm and welcoming environment that feels both timeless and lived in.
Grounded by limestone, marble, rich wood tones, and expansive steel doors, the home balances refinement with comfort, creating spaces designed for gathering, growing, and enjoying life together.
When we decided to move to Raleigh, NC we didn’t expect to find our dream home so soon! We were so excited, but furnishing 4,900 square feet home with our busy lives felt overwhelming. Finding Orshi was such a relief. She took the time to learn about our family, creating a cohesive vision that reflected our lifestyle and values. Our desire was to create a cozy and welcoming home where we could make lifelong memories with our large family and friends.
Handling the design of eight rooms remotely, while also managing purchases, budget, and logistics, is no small feat. Orshi’s realistic 3D renderings made us feel excited and confident as we witnessed our home come together piece by piece. Astral House’s collaborative process and open communication put us at ease. Orshi made our home transformation an enjoyable journey, successfully bringing our vision to life, we’re incredibly grateful!”
To create an impactful yet soft first impression, we commissioned a
custom textile artwork by Mexican artist Mariella Motilla. Crafted from
recycled fibers and natural dyes, it celebrates craftsmanship,
sustainability, and the stories woven into every handmade piece.
ROOTED IN NATURE
A dark stained coffee table crafted from reclaimed Mexican wood
brings a sense of the surrounding landscape indoors. Paired with a
hand-knotted wool rug underfoot, the space balances texture,
warmth, and durability, creating a comfortable gathering place for
everyday living.
RESTFUL BY DESIGN
Designed as a quiet retreat, the primary bedroom balances tailored
architectural details with soft, tactile materials. Portuguese linens,
woven accents, stone lamps, and leather elements bring warmth,
texture, and everyday comfort.
YEAR ROUND RETREAT
A heated patio and generous furnishings blur the line between indoors
and out. Linen, eucalyptus, and concrete bring together comfort,
durability, and timeless simplicity for everyday enjoyment.
COLORFUL CURIOSITY
Inspired by a young girl’s love of color, the room balances whimsy with
longevity. Thoughtful furnishings and non-toxic materials create a
playful yet functional space that can adapt as her interests and
personality continue to evolve.
A DRAMATIC STUDY
Inspired by the cigar lounges of the 1920s, this home office balances
drama and warmth. Dark walls minimize screen glare, while leather
seating, natural stone, and a cozy window nook create a space for
both focus and reflection.
